I’m pretty sure within the first two minutes of meeting, we were laughing together.
They were one of my first couples I spoke to this year and I just knew. I knew we were meant to be. I was so right and it feels so good when that happens (it happens all the time. Hollllaaaaa!)
Dating, moving to London together, traveling where their hearts desired, coming back and slowly building a life together. They know who they are, they know who their people are, they are fulfilled in ways that only those things can make you feel. Family flew in from all over the world to see this inevitable event take place and I got to document it, cornfields and all.
Speeches ran long because there was just so much to say. So many tears, so much laughter, so much affection. Gah, my favorite things. When everyone is relaxed and everyone is on a happy high it doesn’t matter that a storm is brewing outside. It doesn’t matter that it’s starting to drizzle. There is one room filled with every single person you hold close to you. That’s powerful.
It was a good day.
I can’t express how beautiful it was getting to know them and watching vows finally be exchanged. I shot a wedding the following day and didn’t even feel tired (maybe just a little bit) because I left that cornfield inspired, content and happy. It’s been an amazing year and only getting better.
